Financing
The parties responsible for placing a product on the national market – producers, importers and distributors of private labels – finance the collection, sorting and recovery of the packaging waste. They delegate their legal responsibility to FOST Plus and finance the system via the Green Dot, depending on the composition and quantity of the packaging.
By the end of 2006, 5898 companies joined FOST Plus, paying a contribution. These contributions enabled the financing and coordination selective collection and sorting of household packaging waste, in collaboration with the intermunicipal authorities.. .

The tariffs are based on the actual cost of collecting, sorting and recycling/ recovery of each material. The keyword is solidarity:
Some materials exceed the imposed recycling requirements, other pay more than they actually cost in order to finance others; the highest contribution is made by those types of packaging and packaging materials for which there is no recycling guarantee and which are therefore not collected.
